Download Multiple Files at Once

On occasion we receive questions regarding how to get around functionality that Moodle is currently lacking. Usually we go directly to the Moodle plugin repository for solutions to problems like this, but sometimes the answer comes in the form of browser plugins.

For instance, we recently had an instructor ask how to download multiple student submitted files at once. With 20+ students submitting files to a course, it can get to be a bit cumbersome to have to download each file individually. Luckily there is a Firefox plugin that adds this functionality at the browser level. DownThemAll! is a plugin that will let you specify exactly what type of files you want to download from the page you are currently viewing. If your students have submitted papers, navigate to the uploaded assignments, right-click and choose DownThemAll, select “Documents” and hit the “Start” button. All of the papers will be downloaded for you. It also works great for submitted images.
