Mission Statement:
The mission of RCC’s DE Department is to provide innovative, high quality distance education and e-learning programs that meet the diverse needs of students and the college community.
Priorities
- Ensure quality distance education and e-learning experiences for all of RCC’s Students
- Collaboratively design and adopt a common “Theme” for e-learning classes
- Shell of course with common information (Library, Student Services, important contacts etc.)
- Adopt a quality rubric to be used as a tool for evaluation/improvement of course design (not subject matter)
- “Seal of Approval”
- Adopt approval process for courses
- E-Learning quality approval “Seal” for courses
- E-Visement
- Collaboratively design and adopt a common “Theme” for e-learning classes
- Support the college community with distance learning and e-Learning professional development.
- Design, techniques, technologies
- Remove boundaries and inhibitions for distance education and e-learning faculty, staff, and students
- Create a community of e-learning and distance education professionals who are free to openly communicate and share best practices, knowledge, and expertise with others.
